The children and young people we care for will often have suffered from neglect, emotional, physical and sexual abuse; it is likely also that they will have experienced multiple rejections from family settings during their lives.

Ocean Lodge has been set up to provide a medium to long-term residential facility for boys and girls aged between 8-18. Our trained and qualified staff operate a key working system to ensure that every child is provided with the best service, support and advice in a setting that is homely and nurturing.

Ocean Lodge will only accommodate a maximum of 4 children; dependant on the needs requirements and the welfare of other residents we are able to provide a staff to child ratio of 1 to 1 or even 2 to 1.

Where it is possible to arrange we will always seek to enable a planned placement involving the child / young person, carers and significant individuals using a combination of visits, over night stays and meetings to properly assess needs and compatibility. We believe that no placement should occur unless it is evident that Ocean Lodge is able to provide the agreed service requirements for the child / young person.

(We can also provide an emergency or respite provision; on condition that the welfare of other residents will not be in any way disadvantaged by an immediate placement)
